Lostboycrow elevated the vibes at The Basement East in Nashville on Oct. 13. Sandwiched between sibling trios The Band Silver and Echosmith, Lostboycrow (Chris Blair) and his freshly minted band made a stellar impression.

Kicking off Echosmith’s “The Hang Around Tour,” listeners would never have guessed this was the Lostboycrow’s first live performance together as a band. On stage, they interacted like old friends — dancing, joking and keeping the whole crowd thoroughly entertained. The audience was a diverse group of all ages, many of whom had seen Lostboycrow perform before this evening.

Being second in a lineup of three isn'‘t an easy position to hold. But the set length was perfect, fan interaction was peaking and the wardrobe was on point. You can‘t help but bop along when Chris Blair belts out “Strawberry Sunscreen” and Tanner Orange shreds in his crop top. The group put on a set worthy of the venue and got the crowd buzzing for Echosmith to make a seamless entrance.

Lostboycrow carries itself with headliner energy. Their confidence and talent could carry a full show on their own. They have the charm and sense that can only come from practice and commitment to their craft — key ingredients for putting on a top-notch show without making it feel forced or pretentious.

Not only does the band vibe together perfectly, their talent as individuals makes for a flawless performance. They put on a show with no distractions so the music is the star. If this is how Lostboycrow kicks off its 24-show run with Echosmith, I can only imagine performances will leave audiences wanting more in the best way. I look forward to the release of the new album “Indie Pop” dropping Dec. 9, and maybe a headlining tour if fans are lucky!
