Aly&AJ '10 Years' EP Review

It has been 10 years, and 10 years too long since the former Disney Channel stars Aly and AJ Michalka released new music. Going into this EP release, most fans did not know what to expect. Many did not even realize they were planning on releasing new tracks. Past pop hit “Potential Break Up Song” brought thoughts of these new songs resembling Top 40 material, but man, were they wrong. 10 Years, their newest EP, dropped on November 17, 2017 and is already a hit. Including tracks like “I Know” and “Promises,” this 4 song tracklist embodies a modern take on 80’s synths inspired by Depeche Mode and Peter Gabriel. The retro vibes and breathy vocals of this new release brings thoughts of driving around with the windows down with your best friends. 10 Years in full includes tracks “Take Me,” “I Know,” “Promises,” and “The Distance.” I know 4 songs just wasn't enough for me, and with their new sound, we can expect Aly&AJ to become the next indie-pop sensation.
