PREMIERE: The Skinny Limbs - "Persistence"

By Rianne Akindele

The Skinny Limbs are a four-piece band from good ol’ Grand Rapids, Michigan. Having formed in the fall of 2017, the band is gearing up to release their third EP, filled with sounds to perfectly soundtrack your next adventure or trip down nostalgia hill. As a follow up to their most recent single, “Future Days” (which was released earlier this year, and ponders the possibilities of tomorrow), the band has just released their latest single, “Persistence,” accompanied by a music video that resembles an episode of Peaky Blinders (if they took a day off to chill in the forest).

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

“Persistence” starts off with sounds of a dream sequence cooing you into a bright guitar part and lyrics that implore the beauty of the present. The song brings you on a journey, encouraging you to take everything in while you can. Even if you think you’re not yet ready for it, you will be sooner than you think and that time of uncertainty will just be a memory.

As the track plays to the background of the video, our best friends enter the woods and are cracking jokes, playing music, and taking portraits relating back to the lyrics, “hold this moment ... savor this one … don’t let this escape recollection!” As you watch, you begin to remember all of the good days you, yourself spent with loved ones, enjoying the simplicities of life.

You can watch the music video and reminisce about the past, but, at the end, you’ll be left with a reminder to be present in the moment!

Make sure to keep up with the Skinny Limbs!
