Riker & The Beachcombers Create a Quarantine "Escape" with their Cover of Escape (The Piña Colada song)
By Madison Brattoli
After a week of social media teasing, Riker Lynch’s latest project, Riker & The Beachcombers, has officially released their tropical cover of Rupert Holmes’ “Escape (The Pina Colada Song)”.
Now, more than ever, we are all in need of feel-good music to lift our spirits. “Escape (The Pina Colada Song)” teleports you to a much-needed vacation on a relaxing warm sunny beach. With this in mind, the band created their own interpretation of the classic song, while keeping that same tropical and upbeat vibe of the original. While listening to the song, you may be encouraged to fix yourself a tropical drink and create your very own beach party right in your house.
Riker Lynch has attracted a very dedicated fanbase through his experiences as a member of the bands R5 and The Driver Era. With Riker & The Beachcombers, though, Lynch shares that he was inspired to pursue an island-inspired, laid-back vibe that he felt not many artists were expanding on.
As Riker shares,
“The Beachcombers is my passion music project. It’s everything I love: tropical islands, the beach, good vibes, fun music, rum, tequila, pretty much anything island like and summery. [Through this music,] I want people to feel like they’re on vacation and they just happen to get a concert while they’re there.”
Previously, Riker & The Beachcombers have released three original singles with the same tropical vibe and are hoping to release new music soon. Keep an eye out for their new work and be sure to add them to your latest quarantine playlist to bring the beach to your own house!
Keep up with Riker on his socials!
