Growth with Sleep House

Reverb-filled, rock, and a little dreamy—this is the sound of Philadelphia band, Sleep House. After their 2018 single, “Her,” found great success on Spotify, they’ve recently returned with a handful of new songs that impressively demonstrate their progress over the last few years. These three songs, which celebrate growth and development, come together to form their EP, High Tide.
This EP features three charming, guitar-driven, sophisticated songs. Some of the sounds are reminiscent of The Radio Dept., while others have a more free-spirited and laid-back attitude. The crisp and modern production style on the entire EP elevates the band’s way of writing and perfectly demonstrates their new signature sound. Each of the songs floats in an airy, yet poignant way that has the ability to let you relax and drift away or keep you on your tippy-toes.
Take these lyrics from the track, “You’re Still My Favorite Thing,” for example: “Maybe there’s nothing left to lose / Maybe there’s nothing else I’d do / So gimme some more / Pull me back in / Whatever you need / I feel it again / I can’t say I’m ever self assured.”
Regarding their latest release, the band says: “High Tide is technically the 3rd EP we’ve released and the most wide-ranged, yet wholesome project we have to date. All three songs are really about having hope and learning and growing; accepting changes. Throughout our music catalog thus far, I think you can really notice the growing and changing us four have done over the past few years and, while this record is definitely the most mature and pronounced project we have out, we’re constantly growing and changing and embracing and accepting of that idea as the basis for what this EP is all about.”
