Are You Satisfied Yet? - The Polar Boys Dazzle with their New Single, "INTRO"
By Katie Upchurch
The Polar Boys are back with their first release in 8 months: their latest single “INTRO.” With this single in mind, the Miami natives— bandmates Andy Zambrana, Jake Karner, Alex Ramon, and Sito Baquerizo—seem to be drifting from their usual dreamy, retro, surf pop style and are leaning more into a modern style of indie rock, and it’s working for them!
While the new track definitely strays from their usual style, it’s evident that the Polar Boys are already masters of their new sound. With heavy rock and pop influences, the Polar Boys seamlessly create a unique track that is purely their own.
The track opens with a crescendo that leads into the rest of the catchy, synth-filled track. The opening line, ”Let me let you know I got you on my f--king mind,” sets a mood for the entire song. For me, the track is reminiscent of feelings of knowing who/what you want, but still having an insatiable longing; it manifests an attitude of careless confidence with lines such as, “I don’t really care too much/ I just think I’m out of touch/ just when something seems so clutch life’s a b--ch and karma sucks.”
In an Instagram photo posted on September 29, the band reveals, “Going into this release, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t anxious about how it would be received...This is just the beginning of a new era for us and we’re excited to show everyone where we’re going next.”
I personally can’t wait to see what is in store for them!
