‘Blue Like Me’ by Gianni Paci is a song that takes us back in time. There is an extreme vulnerability in writing a song like this and you can hear it within the instrumentals and in his voice. This song sounds like it could be written in the 1950’s with the emotional lyrics and the pace of the music.

I would consider it to be more of a ballad but it’s hard to miss the catching beat. It’s also hard to miss the fact that Gianni himself is extremely young in the paired music video. The mature sound and the complex underlying message behind the lyrics make this song both a song of the present but also one of the present. Lyrics like these are some that can be understood no matter which time period you are in.
