Float Fest: The Festival Of The Summer

By Ashleigh Haddock

It’s that time of the summer again! Float Fest is taking place on July 21-22nd at Cool River Ranch in San Marcos, Texas. Headlining the festival this year will be Tame Impala, Snoop Dogg, Modest Mouse, Run The Jewels, Glass Animals and much more! Not only do you get 2 days worth of music, but there’s many other activities. Before enjoying the music, sit back and relax while you float the San Marcos River. The fest even provides camping space so you can avoid that unwanted hotel bill. Festival-goers start the day at Cool River Ranch, then take a shuttle a few miles up the river to be dropped off so they can float down the stream for a few miles. Tubing takes place in the morning and is completely optional. It can take anywhere from two and a half to four hours to float back to the Ranch. Purchasing a ticket gives you all the fun, but the festival also benefits and shares the proceeds with an organization called Grounded in Music. Grounded in Music uses the power of music to help transform lives of the youth by creating hope and opportunities, such as scholarships. The organization helps build confidence by introducing music to kids starting as young as the fourth grade. Float Fest also pledges to #KeepTheRiverClean and they will be doing everything in their power to keep the festival environmentally friendly. You can do your part by being responsible for your waste and disposing of it properly. Make the most of your Float Fest experience, but at the same time keeping the festival clean. Oh and don’t forget the sunscreen!

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to attend this festival. Float Fest 2018 will be the talk of the summer!. Tickets can still be purchased here.
